Flood Zone

Below you can find information about the City's Flood Zone, including the current FEMA Flood Information Rate Map (FIRM), regulations, completed Elevation Certificates as well as general information and a FEMA library of publications that we hope you'll find useful.

The City participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Community Rating System (CRS).  CRS is a voluntary incentive program that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management activities that exceed the minimum NFIP requirements  As a result, flood insurance premium rates are discounted to reflect the reduced flood risk resulting from the activities that the community has undertaken to prevent and/or reduce future loses due to flooding.  Because of the efforts undertaken by the City, the City currently enjoys a CRS Rating of 7 which equates to a 15% premium discount on all Flood Insurance Policies within the City, which reflects how we are managing our Flood Zone as well as recognizing the steps taken since the 1996 Flood to ensure that future loses to flooding are mitigated as much as is practicable.
